How to Fix CVE-2026-58168

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Deeptutor dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

deeptutor fixed: 1.4.10
pip install deeptutor>=1.4.10
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

pip show deeptutor

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your Python environment is affected by CVE-2026-58168, inspect your installed packages using pip:

pip show deeptutor

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Deeptutor in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 1.4.10), your application is affected.

Note: The pip show deeptutor command checks currently installed packages in your active Python environment.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-862: Missing Authorization, where the product does not perform an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. In Deeptutor, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

DeepTutor before version 1.4.10 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows low-privilege users to invoke unrestricted MCP tools due to the allowed_mcp_tools function returning None instead of a denied result when mcp_tools is omitted from a user's grant in deeptutor/multi_user/tool_access.py. Attackers or prompt-injected content acting within a user session can enumerate and invoke any configured MCP tool, including filesystem, shell, and browser servers, gaining unauthorized access to sensitive deployment resources.
