How to Fix CVE-2026-57291

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Gitee dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

org.jenkins-ci.plugins:gitee fixed: 1292.v2559f2f3f2c0
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.jenkins-ci.plugins</groupId>
    <artifactId>gitee</artifactId>
    <version>1292.v2559f2f3f2c0</version>
</dependency>
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

mvn dependency:tree -Dincludes=org.jenkins-ci.plugins

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your Java application is affected by CVE-2026-57291, inspect your build dependencies using the Maven Dependency Plugin:

mvn dependency:tree -Dincludes=org.jenkins-ci.plugins

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Gitee in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 1292.v2559f2f3f2c0), your application is affected.

Note: The mvn dependency:tree -Dincludes=org.jenkins-ci.plugins command inspects the resolved dependency graph declared in your project's POM files; it does not perform automated security scanning or inspect runtime dynamic classpaths. Always verify runtime container classpaths and shaded JARs.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-862: Missing Authorization, where the product does not perform an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. In Gitee, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

Jenkins Gitee Plugin 1288.v18b_deb_c9069b_ and earlier does not perform permission checks in several HTTP endpoints implementing form validation for its global configuration. This allows attackers with Overall/Read permission to connect to an attacker-specified URL using attacker-specified credentials IDs obtained through another method, capturing credentials stored in Jenkins. Additionally, these HTTP endpoints do not require POST requests, resulting in a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. Gitee Plugin 1292.v2559f2f3f2c0 requires the appropriate permissions in the affected HTTP endpoints, and requires POST requests.
