How to Fix CVE-2026-46551

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected NocoDB dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

nocodb fixed: Latest secure release
npm install nocodb@Latest secure release
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

npm ls nocodb

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your Node.js application is affected by CVE-2026-46551, inspect your project dependencies using npm:

npm ls nocodb

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of NocoDB in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than the patched release), your application is affected.

Note: The npm ls nocodb command inspects dependencies declared in your package.json and lockfile; it does not perform automated runtime dynamic scanning.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling, where the product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any intended restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated. In NocoDB, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Summary The `uploadViaURL` path in the v1/v2 attachment API did not enforce `NC_ATTACHMENT_FIELD_SIZE` against the remote `content-length` or against the response stream. An authenticated user (Editor+) could direct the server to download arbitrarily large files, exhausting disk space and causing denial of service. ### Details In `packages/nocodb/src/services/attachments.service.ts`, the HEAD probe read `content-length` but never compared it to `NC_ATTACHMENT_FIELD_SIZE`; the subsequent `storageAdapter.fileCreateByUrl()` performed the download without `maxContentLength`. The v3 service (`v3/data-attachment-v3.service.ts`) already enforced the limit, but the v1/v2 endpoints (`POST /api/v1/db/storage/upload-by-url`, `POST /api/v2/storage/upload-by-url`) did not. This is distinct from GHSA-xr7v-j379-34v9 (blind SSRF via HEAD) — same code area, different class. ### Impact - Authenticated DoS via disk exhaustion. Editor role suffices. - Cascading failures once disk fills: blocked DB writes, log rotation, application crash. ### Credit This issue was reported by [@ik0z](https://github.com/ik0z).
