How to Fix CVE-2026-34385

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 fixed: 4.81.0
Upgrade github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 to 4.81.0
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2026-34385, inspect your project dependencies for Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4:

inspect dependencies for github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 4.81.0), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-89: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection'), where the product constructs all or part of an sql command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended sql command when it is sent to a downstream component. without sufficient removal or quoting of sql syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated sql query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as sql instead of ordinary user data. In Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Summary A critical second-order SQL Injection vulnerability in Fleet's Apple MDM profile delivery pipeline could allow an attacker with a valid MDM enrollment certificate to exfiltrate or modify the contents of the Fleet database, including user credentials, API tokens, and device enrollment secrets. ### Impact If Apple MDM is enabled, an attacker controlling an enrolled device can send a malicious UDID during the MDM Authenticate check-in. The UDID is stored safely via parameterized queries, but is later interpolated directly into SQL when the async worker processes the job. This enables blind, boolean-based, and UNION-based SQL injection across four simultaneous subqueries. Because Fleet's database driver is configured with `multiStatements=true`, the attacker can also execute stacked queries, enabling arbitrary writes to the database. This includes inserting new admin accounts, modifying configuration, deploying malicious profiles or scripts to managed devices, and deleting data. Exploitation requires a valid SCEP-issued enrollment certificate (mTLS), but any enrolled device, including attacker-controlled devices, can exploit this vulnerability. This issue does not affect instances where Apple MDM is disabled. ### Workarounds If an immediate upgrade is not possible, affected Fleet users should temporarily disable Apple MDM. ### For more information If there are any questions or comments about this advisory: Send an email to [security@fleetdm.com](mailto:security@fleetdm.com) Join #fleet in [[osquery Slack](https://join.slack.com/t/osquery/shared_invite/zt-h29zm0gk-s2DBtGUTW4CFel0f0IjTEw)](https://join.slack.com/t/osquery/shared_invite/zt-h29zm0gk-s2DBtGUTW4CFel0f0IjTEw) ### Credits Fleet thanks@secfox-ai for responsibly reporting this issue.
