How to Fix CVE-2026-84306

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Filament dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

filament/filament fixed: 4.12.6
Upgrade filament/filament to 4.12.6
filament/filament fixed: 5.7.6
Upgrade filament/filament to 5.7.6
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for filament/filament

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2026-84306, inspect your project dependencies for Filament:

inspect dependencies for filament/filament

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Filament in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 4.12.6), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-294: Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay, where a capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes). In Filament, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

A flaw in the handling of one-time codes for app-based multi-factor authentication allows a previously issued code to be used after a newer code has already been accepted. This issue does not affect email-based MFA. Submitting the exact same code twice was already prevented, but any other code within the accepted time window was not. If an attacker gains access to both the user's password and a single one-time code, that code stays usable for the remainder of its time window, which is around four minutes on the default settings, including after the legitimate user has already logged in with a newer code.
