How to Fix CVE-2026-49209

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected symfony/ux-live-component dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

symfony/ux-live-component fixed: 2.36.0
Upgrade symfony/ux-live-component to 2.36.0
symfony/ux-live-component fixed: 3.1.0
Upgrade symfony/ux-live-component to 3.1.0
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for symfony/ux-live-component

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2026-49209, inspect your project dependencies for symfony/ux-live-component:

inspect dependencies for symfony/ux-live-component

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of symfony/ux-live-component in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 2.36.0), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling, where the product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any intended restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated. In symfony/ux-live-component, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Description `Symfony\UX\LiveComponent\Controller\BatchActionController::__invoke()` iterates over the client-supplied `actions` array and issues a full `HttpKernel` sub-request for each entry (event subscribers, validators, Doctrine, rendering). The array size is never bounded, so an authenticated client can submit a single `_batch` request containing thousands of actions and exhaust CPU, memory, and database connections on the application server. ### Resolution `BatchActionController` now enforces an upper bound of 50 actions per `_batch` request (`MAX_ACTIONS_PER_BATCH`) and rejects larger payloads up front with a `BadRequestHttpException`. The matching JavaScript backend was also updated to split larger client-side batches into multiple requests so legitimate usage isn't affected. The patch for this issue is available [here](https://github.com/symfony/ux/commit/95e878d5257f13d6d652ca95e3ef6bb0934d674f) for branch 2.x (and forward-ported to 3.x). ### Credits Symfony would like to thank Pascal Cescon for reporting the issue and Hugo Alliaume for providing the fix.
