How to Fix CVE-2025-32777

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Volcano.sh/volcano dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

volcano.sh/volcano fixed: 1.9.1
Upgrade volcano.sh/volcano to 1.9.1
volcano.sh/volcano fixed: 1.10.2
Upgrade volcano.sh/volcano to 1.10.2
volcano.sh/volcano fixed: 1.11.0-network-topology-preview.3
Upgrade volcano.sh/volcano to 1.11.0-network-topology-preview.3
volcano.sh/volcano fixed: 1.11.2
Upgrade volcano.sh/volcano to 1.11.2
volcano.sh/volcano fixed: 1.12.0-alpha.2
Upgrade volcano.sh/volcano to 1.12.0-alpha.2
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for volcano.sh/volcano

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2025-32777, inspect your project dependencies for Volcano.sh/volcano:

inspect dependencies for volcano.sh/volcano

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Volcano.sh/volcano in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 1.9.1), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling, where the product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any intended restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated. In Volcano.sh/volcano, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Impact This issue allows an attacker who has compromised either the Elastic service or the extender plugin to cause denial of service of the scheduler. This is a privilege escalation, because Volcano users may run their Elastic service and extender plugins in separate pods or nodes from the scheduler. In the Kubernetes security model, node isolation is a security boundary, and as such an attacker is able to cross that boundary in Volcano's case if they have compromised either the vulnerable services or the pod/node in which they are deployed. The scheduler will become unavailable to other users and workloads in the cluster. The scheduler will either crash with an unrecoverable OOM panic or freeze while consuming excessive amounts of memory. ### Workarounds No
