How to Fix GHSA-crmm-hgp2-wgrp

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Laravel Framework dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

laravel/framework fixed: 13.12.0
Upgrade laravel/framework to 13.12.0
laravel/framework fixed: 12.61.1
Upgrade laravel/framework to 12.61.1
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for laravel/framework

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by GHSA-crmm-hgp2-wgrp, inspect your project dependencies for Laravel Framework:

inspect dependencies for laravel/framework

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Laravel Framework in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 13.12.0), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-116: Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output, where the product prepares a structured message for communication with another component, but encoding or escaping of the data is either missing or done incorrectly. as a result, the intended structure of the message is not preserved. In Laravel Framework, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

A vulnerability in Laravel's local filesystem driver allows temporary signed URLs to be parsed ambiguously, potentially misrouting requests and bypassing expiration enforcement. Under certain conditions, a generated temporary signed URL can be interpreted differently by the server than intended at signing time. This may cause requests to resolve to an unintended resource, and can prevent expiration from being enforced, allowing expired URLs to remain valid indefinitely. ### Impact - Expired temporary URLs may continue to be accepted - Requests may resolve to a different resource than the one that was signed - The upload variant may allow writes to reach an unintended destination
