How to Fix CVE-2026-34386

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 fixed: 4.81.0
Upgrade github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 to 4.81.0
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2026-34386, inspect your project dependencies for Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4:

inspect dependencies for github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4 in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 4.81.0), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-89: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection'), where the product constructs all or part of an sql command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended sql command when it is sent to a downstream component. without sufficient removal or quoting of sql syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated sql query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as sql instead of ordinary user data. In Github.com/fleetdm/fleet/v4, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Summary A SQL Injection vulnerability in Fleet's MDM bootstrap package configuration allows an authenticated user with Team Admin or Global Admin privileges to modify arbitrary team configurations, exfiltrate sensitive data from the Fleet database, and inject arbitrary content into team configs via direct API calls. ### Impact An authenticated user with Team Admin or Global Admin role can exploit a flaw in how user-supplied input is handled during MDM bootstrap package configuration. Insufficient server-side input validation allows crafted input to manipulate database queries in unintended ways. Successful exploitation could enable cross-team data corruption, exfiltration of sensitive information such as password hashes and API tokens, and potential privilege escalation. Exploitation requires authentication with team or global admin privileges and MDM to be enabled. This issue does not affect instances where Apple MDM is disabled. ### Workarounds If an immediate upgrade is not possible, affected Fleet users should temporarily disable Apple MDM or limit admin roles. ### For more information If there are any questions or comments about this advisory: Send an email to [security@fleetdm.com](mailto:security@fleetdm.com) Join #fleet in [osquery Slack](https://join.slack.com/t/osquery/shared_invite/zt-h29zm0gk-s2DBtGUTW4CFel0f0IjTEw) ### Credits Fleet thanks the Secfox Research Team (@secfox-ai) for responsibly reporting this issue.
