How to Fix CVE-2026-9808

To remediate this vulnerability, upgrade all affected Mautic/core dependencies to a patched release. Both direct and transitive dependencies should be checked, as frameworks or security libraries may pull in vulnerable versions transitively.

mautic/core fixed: 7.1.2
Upgrade mautic/core to 7.1.2
Verify Direct and Transitive Dependencies

Run the following command in your project directory to verify that all resolved dependencies use the patched release:

inspect dependencies for mautic/core

How to Check if You Are Affected

To determine whether your application is affected by CVE-2026-9808, inspect your project dependencies for Mautic/core:

inspect dependencies for mautic/core

Analyze the terminal output to locate any version of Mautic/core in your dependency tree. If any resolved version matches the vulnerable ranges listed in the table below (for example, versions earlier than 7.1.2), your application is affected.

Note: Verify declared build manifests and deployed runtime container environments.

Technical Details

Vulnerability Mechanism & Technical Analysis

This vulnerability is classified under CWE-863: Incorrect Authorization, where the product performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action, but it does not correctly perform the check. In Mautic/core, software state validation or input boundaries are circumvented during processing. Review the official source advisory statement below for specific affected components, classes, and reproduction details.

Source Advisory Statement

### Summary An authorization bypass vulnerability exists in the Mautic 7 API v2 endpoints (utilizing API Platform). Under certain conditions, roles configured with owner-scope restrictions (such as `viewown` or `editown`) are not properly enforced. This allows low-privilege authenticated API users to bypass ownership-logic controls and access or modify resources belonging to other users. ### Impact Authenticated API users with limited roles can read or modify restricted resources—including reports, contacts, and companies—that they do not own and should not have access to. This bypasses structural tenant and privilege boundaries on the platform. ### Patched Versions This security issue has been addressed in the following release: * **7.1.2** *Note: Mautic 6.x, 5.x, and 4.x branches are not affected by this vulnerability. For general security support regarding legacy Mautic 4 releases, please refer to the [ELTS](https://mautic.org/extended-long-term-support-elts/) page.* ### Workarounds There are no official workarounds. To mitigate this issue without upgrading, temporarily revoke API credentials or narrow access permissions for any users whose roles rely on owner-scope permission containment.
